On May 17th, Vice Chancellor of Universidad Complutense de Marid Dámaso López García and his delegation paid a visit to Southwest Petroleum University. Vice President Zhou Ying received them.
Zhou Ying welcomed Dámaso López García and his delegation. He introduced SWPU briefly, and looked forward to the prospects of cooperation between Universidad Complutense de Madrid and SWPU.
Dámaso López García introduced Universidad Complutense de Madrid, in particular its majors and international exchanges.
Both sides discussed and reached preliminary consensus on joint cultivation of undergraduate and graduate students, mutual visits and exchanges among faculties, and the establishment of a Spanish preparatory base. Both parties agreed that relevant personnel will continue to follow up and sign a memorandum of cooperation as soon as possible to prepare for the next cooperation between the two universities.
The heads of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the Party and Administrative Office, the Academic Affairs Office, and the Graduate School attended the meeting.
Universidad Complutense de Madrid was founded in 1499 and is the top-ranked public university in Spain, as well as the largest and most comprehensive university in Spain. It has a superior geographical location and a strong faculty. Ranked 171st in the 2024 QS World University Rankings, it has produced 7 Nobel laureates.
